The brief to JCY Architects was simple – create a design that is contemporary in its aesthetic and exacting in its quality.

Ensure each apartment offers comfortable living areas flowing seamlessly to usable north facing decks. The quality of materials is not to be compromised and the finish must be impeccable. Integrate the design into Basque Park and ensure the building connects with all aspects of its surroundings.

Throughout the design process, great importance was given to ensuring natural light was a feature in all bedrooms. A design consequence of this focus on light was the beautiful atrium to the rear of the building, which evolved as a breezeway and connects all the apartments, affording individual access while maintaining total privacy.

A series of outstanding architectural features connect the building with the surrounding Basque park and the use of natural timber and striking design elements, including floor to ceiling glazing, ensure SOL delivers a very special living experience.
